There are five main ways to get Windows 11 installed. It is best to wait until Windows Update arrives on your computer to download it. You can also force your computer to download the installation assistant. Windows Insider Program is the third option. These three methods do not result in data or files being lost.
As the fourth method to obtain Windows 11, you can also use the media creator tool. Or, as a fifth option, you can use a Windows 11 ISO file to manually install the OS on your computer. You’ll lose files if you use these two methods. These are the last resort.

How To Install Windows Update
Windows Update is the easiest way to install Windows 11. Windows Update will display notification to let you know it’s available for your computer. These instructions will help you complete the installation. This option won’t cause any files or data to be lost on your computer.
Steps To Manually Check For The Windows 11 Update
Step 1 Go to Settings > Security & Update Click Check for any updates.
Step 2 A prompt for Windows 11 Upgrade is available. It’s free. Click the blue Download button. Then Accept and Install button will be displayed.
Step 3 After that, you should see the Update to Windows 11 under Windows Update with a percentage of your download status. It will take a while for it to finish.
Step 4 : After the process is complete, you will be prompted to restart your computer. It will appear in a blue box. Select the Restart Now option. The Windows 11 installation will begin and your computer will reboot several times. You’ll be taken directly to the Windows 11 desktop once you are done.
How To Use Windows 11 Installation Assistant
You can also use the Windows 11 Install Assistant if Windows Update isn’t showing Windows 11. This will manually upgrade your Windows 10 computer to the new Windows 11 OS. This method will require you to make sure your computer meets Microsoft’s minimum system requirements. There won’t be any files lost. Follow these procedures given below.
Step 1 Go to Microsoft’s Windows 11 download site. Click the blue Get Download Now button at the top of the Windows 11 Installation Assistant menu.
Step 2 Wait for it to download. Once the download is complete, launch the tool. When prompted, click Yes.
Step 3 You’ll need to select Accept and Install from the pop-up. This will make it a three-step process. As part of the first step, wait for Windows 11’s download. It may take some time depending on how fast your internet connection is. At lease 2 MBPS speed is sufficient, 50 to 100 MPBS is recommended. It is possible that you will be asked to accept the Microsoft terms of service.
Step 4 Windows 11 will then verify the integrity and authenticity of your downloaded file. This should only take a few seconds.
Step 5 The third step will prompt you about Windows 11 installation in the background. Wait for it to install. It can take up to 30 minutes or little bit long, depending on your computer’s speed.

If this is your first time using the Windows Insider Program you will notice there are three channels: beta, Dev and release preview. Windows 11 is currently being tested on both the Beta and Dev Channels. Choose the one that suits you best.
Step 2 Windows 11 beta channel is the best way to test it. You won’t encounter as many bugs or issues if you choose to join this channel. Beta channel releases occur every few weeks.
You can join the dev channel to get the most recent version of Windows 11 from Microsoft. It has weekly releases as well as all new features. You can also preview the next Windows 10 update via the Release Preview.

Select the Create Windows 11 Install Media option. Follow the steps below.
Step 1 Accept . Start the Setup tool and select Accept the terms.
Step 2 Select your USB flash drive from this list, and then click Next. Windows 11 will begin downloading to your USB flash drive once you’re prompted. After the installation is complete, it will switch to . The prompt will let you know that the drive has been completed.
Step 4 Go back to Windows 10 settings and select Update & security. Next, choose recovery from the left side. Advanced startup offers the Start now option.
Step 5 Select Use a device in the popup prompt. Your USB drive should be listed. Select it and Windows will start to the USB drive and Windows 11 installer. If this option is not available, you will need to go into your BIOS/UEFI to manually start from the USB drive. You can usually do this by pressing F12 (or see your pc bios screen to find right key) on start as soon as your computer turns on. Step 7 Select the Custom option to choose the drive where you want Windows 11 installed. To delete all files on your drive, you might need to click the format button. After you are done, click Next.
Manually Delete Windows 11 ISO file (not recommended).
An ISO file is the final and most extreme method of installing Windows 11. This file is used for those methods that do not work according to the previous section. This file will be used to wipe your computer and install Windows 11. Make sure everything is backed up. This ISO option also allows you to install Windows 11 on virtual machines.

Step 6 After a while, the USB drive should be ready. After Rufus is finished, close Rufus and restart your computer to install Windows 11. Follow the steps in the previous section.
