How To Install Windows Update

Steps To Manually Check For The Windows 11 Update

Step 1 Go to Settings > Security & Update Click Check for any updates.

Step 2 A prompt for Windows 11 Upgrade is available. It’s free. Click the blue Download button. Then Accept and Install button will be displayed.

Step 3 After that, you should see the Update to Windows 11 under Windows Update with a percentage of your download status. It will take a while for it to finish.

You can also use the Windows 11 Install Assistant if Windows Update isn’t showing Windows 11. This will manually upgrade your Windows 10 computer to the new Windows 11 OS. This method will require you to make sure your computer meets Microsoft’s minimum system requirements. There won’t be any files lost. Follow these procedures given below.

Step 1  Go to Microsoft’s Windows 11 download site. Click the blue Get Download Now button at the top of the Windows 11 Installation Assistant menu.

Step 2 Wait for it to download. Once the download is complete, launch the tool. When prompted, click Yes.

Step 3 You’ll need to select Accept and Install from the pop-up. This will make it a three-step process. As part of the first step, wait for Windows 11’s download. It may take some time depending on how fast your internet connection is. At lease 2 MBPS speed is sufficient, 50 to 100 MPBS is recommended. It is possible that you will be asked to accept the Microsoft terms of service.

Select the Create Windows 11 Install Media option. Follow the steps below.

Step 1  Accept . Start the Setup tool and select Accept the terms.

Step 2 Select your USB flash drive from this list, and then click Next. Windows 11 will begin downloading to your USB flash drive once you’re prompted. After the installation is complete, it will switch to . The prompt will let you know that the drive has been completed.

Step 3 After your USB drive has been installed, click the Finish button to close the installer. The USB drive should be plugged in to your computer.

Step 4 Go back to Windows 10 settings and select Update & security. Next, choose recovery from the left side. Advanced startup offers the Start now option.

Step 5 Select Use a device in the popup prompt. Your USB drive should be listed. Select it and Windows will start to the USB drive and Windows 11 installer. If this option is not available, you will need to go into your BIOS/UEFI to manually start from the USB drive. You can usually do this by pressing F12 (or see your pc bios screen to find right key) on start as soon as your computer turns on. Step 6  After you have opened the Windows 11 installer, choose a language and click Next. Select the version that corresponds to Windows 10 on your computer. Click Next.

Step 7  Select the Custom option to choose the drive where you want Windows 11 installed. To delete all files on your drive, you might need to click the format button. After you are done, click Next.

You can also try the extended option to get around Microsoft’s restrictions. To create the drive, you can leave everything as it is and click the start button.
